Our services

Dog Walking

Either individual walking or group walking depending on your dogs requirements. For group walking, our maximum is 4 dogs on any walk. Your dog can walk in its favourite areas, and if you wish, can be let off the lead in a safe area. If you work long hours, having your dog exercised for you could be the solution you’re looking for.
For group walking, all dogs in our care must be fully vaccinated, in good health, get on with other dogs and be friendly to people. If you want your dog taking to a local park or woods to walk, that’s no problem – we have a pet taxi.

Puppy Care Visits

Are you thinking of getting a puppy and can't be at home all day? Puppies need lots of attention and quickly need to get into a routine with toilet training and learning basic commands. We can help by providing visits of half an hour or up to one hour.

We'll give them lots of TLC and feed and water as required. Of course we'll clean up any accidents! We'll provide play and/or short walk and follow any basic training using your preferred methods and commands.

Cat Feeding/Small Animal Care

One or two daily visits to your home to look after your cats, rabbits, mice, fish, budgie etc. Your animals will be fed and watered. Feeding areas/cages will be cleaned or cleaned out as necessary. Cuddles (if they like cuddles but not for fish!) will be given and if required, some basic grooming.

All home visits will include house checks to ensure there are no problems while you're away. We'll pick up your post, put your bins out, water your house plants etc. If there's anything else you'd like us to do for you, then please just ask. We're happy to help with reasonable requests.

All house keys in our possession are kept in a locked safe and are given a special code as we understand that safety and security are a priority in your absence.

Pet Taxi

For short and long trips – anywhere that your pet needs to go. Our van is specially adapted for animals, air-conditioned and vet approved.
Short trips in your area can be to the vets, kennels, cattery, groomer etc. Long trips could be a house move, a trip to specialised veterinary hospital, to a breeder, to the airport for travelling abroad. Don’t forget to check if you need a pet passport if your pets are going abroad.

Well, I never ...

tibetan terrier
  • Did you know if your dog has flews, it has pendulous upper lips! Smile……
  • Dalmations are thought to have come from northern India. They make a good family pet for the energetic type and yes, they can be deaf so you don't want 101 of them…..
  • Cats can happily stand high temperatures – that's why they can sit in front of a roaring fire or on a boiling hot radiator when it's too hot for us humans.
  • Some cats will play 'fetch' and indeed, some cats can be trained to fetch but then some will just ignore you!
  • Burmese cats come in a variety of colours: Brown, Blue, Chocolate, Lilac and Red just to name a few. Sounds like Joseph's Amazing Technicoloured Coat!
  • If you're having trouble getting your cat to take tablets – try a little bit of smoked salmon pate or soft cheese such as diarylea. The vet won't like it but it works a treat with mine!
  • Cats can suffer from Acne. If it doesn't clear up by using a warm saline solution to burst the spot and then applying a mild antiseptic suitable for cats, then consult your vet. Your cat may need antibiotics if it persists.
  • English Pointers colourings can be Lemon, Orange, Liver or Black with or without white or tricolour markings. They make a good family pet but need a good amount of exercise.
  • If you're dog is 4 years old then that's around the human age of 32 years. If you're dog is 14years old then it's about 72 years in human terms so be gentle with them!
  • Make sure your rabbit's claws don't become overgrown as they can get caught up on flooring and wires/mesh in their cage. You can clip the claws yourself though I think I'd go to the vets and save myself the scratches and bites you may get from your rabbit – let alone the risk cutting the claw too short and cause bleeding.
  • Pregnancy in gerbils lasts about 24 days after mating. Around 5 cubs will be borne. They will be about 2.5cm in length and are without fur.
  • Every year, the Cats Protection rehomes around 60,000 cats and kittens. For ways you can help more cats, visit www.cats.org.uk
  • Each year, the Dogs Trust cares for over 13,500 stray and abandoned dogs. Most find new homes quickly and healthy dogs are never destroyed. Visit www.dogstrust.org.uk for the details of your nearest Dogs Trust centre.
  • Newborn puppies will begin to hear after about 12 twelve days. When borne, the ears are folded and the ear canals are sealed off. The eyes start to open around 10 to 14 days and puppies are generally able to focus about a week after that.
  • Pet hamsters generally live for around 2 to 3 years. There are different species and breeds of hamster with a wide choice of colourings.
  • Siberian Huskies are friendly, intelligent and quiet. They don’t often bark but howl like a wolf. They need company and are unhappy without it. Being lonely can bring out their destructive nature in the home and garden!
  • Rabbits love company and make great family pets. A single rabbit can become lonely so it’s best to have a pair or a group. You should also provide chew toys and gnawing blocks to help wear their teeth which grow continually.
  • Tibetan Terriers were used by nomads in Tibet to protect their camps. They also considered these dogs to be a token of good luck.
  • Cats are good for you! They can help you to relax. Stroking them slows the heart rate and lowers blood pressure.
  • It’s thought that dogs see colour differently to people. They see the world in pastel shades.
  • British Shorthairs can have a tendency to obesity more than other cats. Their diet should be monitored – particular if you cat is less active and has been neutered.
  • Guinea pigs are rodents but they don’t have a tail. If tamed when they are young and get used to being picked up, they make a good choice of a pet for children.
  • German Shorthaired Pointers are very gentle, placid and affectionate dogs. They make a good pet, little grooming is needed but they do need adequate exercise and interaction.
  • At six weeks old, kittens should be weaned and eating solid food. At about ten weeks old, they can have the first of their two inoculations. The next inoculation takes place at around 12 week old.
  • Remember folks, chocolate, grapes, raisins, onions and garlic are all poisonous to dogs and cats! There's plenty of information on the internet about this so please check it out.
  • Did you know that the shih-tzu originally came from China. They tend to be alert and active. They do need regular grooming but generally need minimum exercise and can be a good choice as a family pet.
  • Cats purr for a number of reasons. A gentle purr is a demand – usually for food – followed by a loud purr as a thank you to their human slave! Sick, injured or ill cats will purr to comfort themselves and to let others know that they don't feel well.
  • Did you know kittens are born with blue eyes and they will remain blue for several weeks. Eyes are shut to start with but will be fully open at 9 to 14 days old.
  • Save money! Don't buy expensive cat toys – ping pong balls, string, ribbon, bits of rolled up paper, cardboard boxes and 'tunnels' of newspaper will keep them entertained. Though the odd catnip mouse or toy and a scratching post are usually worth buying.
  • Bearded Collies are energetic, friendly and affectionate. They make a good family pet but they do need plenty of physical and mental stimulation. Also that long coat needs regular grooming!'.
  • The Saint Bernard breed was developed in the early 18th century by monks in Switzerland. They wanted dogs that could rescue and guide people in the snow.
